Terms & Polices

Introduction

Greener Pastures is committed to ensuring your privacy and the security of your personal information. Our privacy policy is a statement of that commitment and an opportunity to share with utmost transparency the ways in which we do and don’t gather and use your personal information. This policy also details our stance on affiliation and guidelines on use of images and content within our site.

Collecting Personal Info and Use

Greener Pastures does not require you to provide any personal information to use our website. Any personal or identifying information that you may choose to provide is voluntary. There are features on our website that may give you an opportunity to provide personal information in line with our mission of education and advocacy around factory farming issues. These features include but are not limited to subscribing to Greener Pastures Blog, opting in for email updates and action alert emails, and engaging in advocacy activities like signing a petition or letter to an elected official or other entity.

If you voluntary choose to provide personal information, Greener Pastures will never sell, trade or rent your personal information. With the exception of petitions and related advocacy action items, your personal information will never be shared with an outside entity. Greener Pastures will store voluntarily given information like name, email address, mailing address, phone number and similar information to monitor activity on our website and periodically keep you updated and engaged in line with our mission. Any personal information will only be accessible by Greener Pastures staff and shall remain password protected at all times.

When you take an advocacy action (ie, signing a petition or sending a letter to an elected official or campaign-related entity), Greener Pastures will store a record of that information for our records and deliver your advocacy action to its publicly stated recipient, along with the contact information you choose to provide. Such contact information may include your name, address, phone number, email and relevant comments. Greener Pastures is not responsible for what the recipients of your advocacy actions do with your personal information. When elected officials receive your petitions or letters, your personal information may be recorded or noted into public documents.

Greener Pastures uses several vendors and online services to provide our content to the public and to monitor web traffic and site use. Our website is currently hosted through SquareSpace. SquareSpace has a different privacy policy and terms of use statement. SquareSpace and its site usage plug-ins and tools may use your personal information in ways that are different and completely independent from Greener Pastures. By visiting this site, you agree to SquareSpace’s policies and understand that Greener Pastures is not responsible for SquareSpace’s use of your information in any way.

Greener Pastures may also collect some non-identifying information to monitor activity on our site, including but not limited to the date and time you access our site and the internet address of the site from which you linked to our site. We use this information to measure the number of visitors to the different pages of our site, and to help us make Greener Pastures more useful to visitors in the future.

Managing Use of Your Info

If you voluntarily provide personal information to Greener Pastures which you would no longer like us to use, you may take the following actions:

  • Request that your name and contact info be removed from our opt-in lists by sending an email to togreenerpastures@gmail.com. • All emails that Greener Pastures sends will have an option and instructions to “Unsubscribe.” Doing so will also remove you from our email list. Again, please note that your information and action history will remain in our internal records, but we will not send you emails indefinitely unless you request them.
